Fast and Loose, Shot from the Hip

Today I went up to the center of town for the first time since getting in. The main commercial strip, MG Marg, is actually a very nice pedestrian space, one of the best I’ve seen on any continent in fact. When I was here two years ago the whole street was torn up with construction. Now there is a wide area of polished tile with benches and planters dividing it down the middle. Of course nice pedestrian spaces are often rather boring to take pictures of, so I wandered down to a bit dirtier street and took a bunch of photos.

Most of these were all shot fast from the hand, without checking to framing first — a strategy made possible by the luxury of autofocus. It is fun to go back through later and find gems that I had no idea I shot.
